​This is the story of Ok-ju, a former bodyguard who witnesses the death of her best friend, ballerina Min-hee, and embarks on a quest for revenge. Min-hee, caught up in a sex trafficking scandal, is driven to suicide and leaves a note asking Ok-ju to avenge her. Ok-ju hunts down Choi Pro, the man responsible for Min-hee's death, while facing off against various criminal organizations in the process.​

​"Ballerina is the second collaboration between director Lee Chung-hyun and actor Jeon Jong-seo, who first met through their previous film Call and later developed a romantic relationship. Director Lee described Jeon Jong-seo as 'a clever and instinctive actor' and noted that their strong rapport made the filming process smooth and efficient. On the musical side, hip-hop artist GRAY served as the music director, amplifying the film's emotional and action-packed elements. GRAY experimented with various musical styles, including tracks performed by Jeon Jong-seo, to craft a distinctive atmosphere for the film.
