​Set in 1989 in Chungcheongnam-do, Coupang’s original drama Youth Days follows the story of Byeong-tae, a high school student whose goal is to live a peaceful life away from the chaos of school. However, after being unexpectedly transferred to Buyeo, Byeong-tae is mistakenly thought to be a legendary fighter and becomes the leader of Buyeo. Throughout this journey, Byeong-tae forms new friendships, experiences his first love, and undergoes personal growth, capturing the various emotions of youth.​

​Director Lee Myung-woo incorporated the Asan City Hall Yi Sun-sin Dotum font into the title design, and the story of the Japanese invasions of Korea plays a key role in the narrative. Additionally, the OST, written by the director himself, features Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s famous quote, "To live is to fight; to fight is to live," which further underscores the message of the work.​
