The new title also holds ironic significance in the English-speaking world, evoking the image of a peaceful family home with the phrase ""Home, sweet home."" Season 1 of Sweet Home, produced by Netflix, follows Hyun-soo and the residents of Green Home as they struggle to survive against monsters while grappling with personal conflicts and inner trauma. Each episode introduces new monsters, and the survivors desperately band together to fight them. A key focus is Hyun-soo’s internal conflict as his semi-monsterization progresses, forcing him to battle his fear of losing humanity while fighting to resist fully turning into a monster. The second half of the season introduces unexpected twists and threats, with each character’s decisions playing a critical role in determining survival.
