​While producing Sweet Home Season 2, the production team sought guidance from the original author, Kim Kanbee, to enhance the storyline. They held in-depth discussions about the hidden settings in the original work and the expanded universe, aiming to craft a unique story and worldbuilding exclusive to Season 2. However, unlike the clear and focused theme of Season 1, many viewers felt that the suddenly expansive worldbuilding and the introduction of new characters made the story of Season 2 harder to follow.​
