Both the webtoon and the drama were adapted from the novel, meaning neither the webtoon serves as the original work for the drama, nor vice versa. The webtoon was serialized concurrently with the drama, but its story and character settings were adjusted to align with the drama’s narrative flow, diverging from the original novel. To synchronize the release of the webtoon and drama, the production companies Jaedam Media and SLL collaborated closely. Despite these efforts, PD Lee Dong-yoon, who directed the drama, emphasized during the production presentation that the drama’s storyline would intentionally differ from the novel to suit its own direction."​
