This is the story of Kongjwi, a kind and diligent young woman, and her stepsister Patjwi. After losing her mother, Kongjwi lives a hard life, mistreated by her stepmother and stepsister Patjwi. Despite her struggles, she remains kind and hardworking. One day, Kongjwi wishes to attend a grand feast in the village, but her stepmother and Patjwi create obstacles to prevent her from going. With the help of a fairy, Kongjwi overcomes these difficulties and attends the feast. At the banquet, a prince recognizes Kongjwi’s beauty and kind heart, takes her as his wife, and Kongjwi finally finds happiness.

"The Tale of Kongjwi and Patjwi" is often called the Korean Cinderella story. Kongjwi, a kind and hardworking girl, is mistreated by her stepmother and stepsister, Patjwi. Despite her hardships, she remains virtuous. With the help of a fairy, Kongjwi attends a village feast, where a prince notices her beauty and kind heart.
